If you did not get the other driver’s insurance information, you are not out of options yet. You can still report the crash to the police, give them the license plate or driver details you do have, and often they can pull the insurance information for the official report, which you and your lawyer or insurer can later request. Your own insurance company may also help investigate using the plate number and can guide you on using collision or uninsured motorist coverage if the other driver turns out to be uninsured or cannot be located.
